Glass & Window Cleaning
At the Tegernsee you buy the view.
And then stop cleaning it.
A year without window cleaning costs you about a third of your mountain view.
You don't notice it, because it happens slowly. Pollen in May, rain and dust all summer, leaves in autumn, soot from chimneys in winter and the fine film that road salt and fog leave behind. After twelve months you can still see the lake – just not quite the way it actually looks.
The moment it hits you is always the same: the day after the cleaning. You sit down with your coffee by the window and think someone switched the light on outside.
What window cleaning includes
The pane is the easy part. The difference between clean and truly clean lies in the corners – in the frame, in the rebate, under the rubber seal. That's exactly where what later shows up as streaks on the glass collects.
- Panes inside and out, streak-free
- Frames wiped down all around
- Rebates and seals vacuumed and wiped
- Window sills inside and out
- Handles and fittings
- Shutter boxes wiped down from outside
- Roof windows, as far as safely reachable
- Conservatory and balcony glazing
- Glass doors and mirrors on request
- Floors and furniture covered beforehand
- Water marks wiped up before I leave
What I don't do
Anything that would require scaffolding, a lift, or rope access. Tall facade glazing on hillside homes belongs with a specialised glass-cleaning company, not with me. I'll tell you honestly at the first appointment rather than attempting it – on a hillside house that's not a question of ambition.
Why talhelfer
What you get out of it
Frames and rebates included
No surcharge, no discussion. When I clean windows, the corners are part of it – otherwise you'll see streaks again in two weeks.
Twice a year is enough
Once in spring after pollen season, once in autumn after the leaves fall. For houses right on the lake or on the road, a third round pays off.
Nothing left behind
Floors and furniture get covered, water marks get wiped up. You should be able to use the room as soon as I'm out.
Always the same person
By the second time I know which window sticks and where the water connection is. That saves time – and you're the one paying for it.
Transparent & fair
What window cleaning costs
I charge by the hour: 47.50 € per hour, minimum booking two hours, travel costs within the Tegernsee valley included. An average apartment with six to eight windows takes two to three hours, a single-family home half a day to a full day.
After the first appointment I know how long your windows actually take – from then on I'm happy to quote a fixed price per round so you can plan for it.
Tax-deductible: Window cleaning counts as a household-related service under § 35a of the German Income Tax Act (EStG). You can deduct 20% of the cost directly from your income tax, up to €4,000 per year. This requires an invoice and payment by bank transfer – cash doesn't qualify for tax purposes.

Where I work
I clean windows regularly in Tegernsee, Rottach-Egern, Bad Wiessee, Gmund and Kreuth. Waakirchen, Schliersee, Holzkirchen and Miesbach on request – there I add the travel time by arrangement.
Frequently asked questions
What I'm most often asked
How much does window cleaning cost in the Tegernsee area?
At talhelfer, window cleaning costs 47.50 € per hour with a minimum booking of two hours; travel costs within the Tegernsee valley are included. An apartment with six to eight windows usually takes two to three hours, a single-family home half a day to a full day. After the first appointment I'm happy to quote a fixed price per round on request.
How often should windows be cleaned?
For most households in the Tegernsee valley, two appointments a year are enough: one in spring after pollen season, one in autumn after the leaves fall. Houses directly on the lake, on a main road, or with many chimneys nearby often benefit from a third round in midsummer.
Do you also clean frames, rebates and window sills?
Yes, that's included at no extra charge. Frames are wiped down, rebates vacuumed and wiped out, window sills cleaned inside and out, handles and fittings as well. It's exactly in the rebates that the dirt collects that otherwise shows up as streaks on the glass again after a short time.
Do you also clean roof windows and conservatories?
I clean roof windows as far as I can safely reach them from inside or from a normal ladder. Conservatories and balcony glazing too. What I don't take on are tall facade glazing that would require scaffolding, a lift, or rope access – that belongs with a specialised glass-cleaning company.
Do I need to be home during the window cleaning?
No. Most of my customers give me a key or let me in the first time and aren't present after that. If you'd like, I'll send you photos afterwards. For second homes, that's actually the normal case.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes, I bring everything I need – cleaning agents, cloths, squeegee and ladder. You don't need to provide anything. If you prefer a particular product, for example due to an allergy or sensitive surfaces, I'll of course use yours.
Do you also clean windows in holiday rentals?
Yes, and it combines well with a guest changeover. Many landlords have the windows cleaned twice a year alongside a thorough intermediate cleaning anyway. Details are on the holiday rental cleaning page.
