Garden Service
in the Tegernsee Valley

Everything grows faster here than you'd think. I keep your outdoor space in shape – even when you're not around.

Garden & Outdoor Areas

It rains a lot at the Tegernsee.
The garden thinks that's wonderful.

Three weeks away, and the lawn decides to go feral.

Anyone with a garden here knows the pace. Rainfall in the Tegernsee valley is well above the Bavarian average – good for the meadows, exhausting for anyone bridging six weeks of absence between two stays.

I keep the outdoor area in the condition you want it in. Not as a landscape gardener with design proposals, but as someone who comes regularly and does what's needed so it never gets the chance to tip over.

What I do in the garden

The scope depends on how often I come. With a visit every two weeks during the growing season, the garden stays consistently tidy without it ever becoming a big job.

  • Mowing the lawn and edging
  • Trimming hedges and shrubs into shape
  • Weeding and loosening beds
  • Weeds in joints and the driveway
  • Deadheading, cutting back perennials
  • Raking up and disposing of leaves
  • Sweeping terraces and paths
  • Cleaning, storing and setting out garden furniture
  • Watering and repositioning potted plants
  • Hauling away and disposing of green waste
  • Winterising in autumn
  • After storms: clearing branches, reporting damage

Where my limit is

I'm not a landscape gardener. Felling trees, larger crown maintenance, paving work, irrigation systems or a new layout belong with a specialist firm – I have neither the equipment nor the training for that. What I do is the ongoing maintenance: making sure it looks tidy and stays that way.

If something bigger comes to my attention during a visit – a tree leaning worryingly after a storm, a fence giving way – I report it to you with a photo before it turns into damage.

Why talhelfer

What you get out of it

🌿

Regular instead of one big push

Every two weeks during the growing season, and the garden looks good throughout. The big August rescue mission is off the table.

🏔️

Even when you're not there

The normal case for second homes: you arrive, and the garden looks as if you'd never been away.

🍂

Green waste comes with me

I don't leave piles lying around. Cuttings and leaves get taken away and disposed of properly.

📸

I report what stands out

A loose branch over the terrace, a fence giving way: you hear it from me with a photo, not just at the next visit.

What garden maintenance costs

Garden service runs by the hour: 45 € per hour, minimum booking two hours, travel costs within the Tegernsee valley included. Disposal of green waste is added according to actual effort.

With regular maintenance, the individual visit is shorter and therefore cheaper – a lawn mowed every two weeks needs a fraction of the time of one that's grown wild for six weeks.

Tax-deductible: Garden maintenance counts as a household-related service under § 35a EStG – 20% of the cost is directly deductible from income tax, up to €4,000 per year. This requires an invoice and payment by bank transfer.

Frequently asked questions

What I'm most often asked

How much does garden service cost at the Tegernsee?

At talhelfer, garden maintenance costs 45 € per hour with a minimum booking of two hours, travel costs within the Tegernsee valley included. Disposal of green waste is added according to actual effort. With regular appointments the effort per visit drops noticeably.

How often should the lawn be mowed in the Tegernsee valley?

During the main growing season from May to July every one to two weeks, in spring and autumn every two to three weeks. The Tegernsee valley gets above-average rainfall, so growth is correspondingly fast. Anyone mowing only every six weeks ends up mowing longer in total than someone who has it done regularly.

Do you take the green waste away?

Yes. I take cuttings, leaves and branches away and dispose of them properly. I don't leave piles in the garden that you'd then have to haul away yourself. Disposal effort is billed according to the actual quantity.

Do you maintain the garden even when I'm not there?

That's the normal case for most of my garden customers. They live elsewhere and come every few weeks. I have access, come at the agreed interval and send you photos on request. When you arrive, the garden is in order.

Do you also fell trees or lay out a new garden?

No. Tree felling, larger crown maintenance, paving and earthworks, as well as new layouts belong with a landscape gardener or a tree-care company. I take on the ongoing maintenance. If I see that a specialist firm is needed, I'll tell you.

Do you also do winter service?

Snow clearing on driveways and access paths I take on for existing customers by arrangement. It's not a guaranteed clearing service with fixed times under the statutory clearing obligation – for that there are specialised providers on call around the clock.

Do you bring your own equipment?

I bring small tools with me. For the lawn mower and hedge trimmer I normally use yours, if available – that's more practical and easier on your lawn, since the equipment is set for it. If nothing's there, I bring my own equipment.

Before the lawn makes the decision itself

Send me a short note on how big your garden is and how often you're on-site yourself. I'll get back to you within 24 hours.
